InukaMama is dedicated to ensuring our website is accessible to everyone, including individuals with disabilities. We strive to adhere to best practices in web accessibility and are committed to continuous improvement.

ACCESSIBILITY STATEMENT

This statement was last updated on June 29, 2026. We at InukaMama are working to make our site accessible to people with disabilities.

1. Our Commitment

InukaMama is committed to making our website, inukamama.org, accessible to as many people as possible, including people with disabilities. We believe that everyone, including guardians, mentors, donors, and members of the public who wish to learn about or support our work, should be able to access our content with ease.

We recognise that digital accessibility is an ongoing process rather than a one-time achievement. This statement describes our current approach, the standards we aim toward, and how you can contact us if you experience any difficulty using our website.

2. Accessibility adjustments on this site

We want to be transparent: InukaMama has not yet conducted a formal accessibility audit of our website against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) or any other recognised standard. This statement reflects our intention and ongoing commitment to accessibility, not a claim of full or current compliance.

Our website is built using the Wix website builder, which provides a number of built-in accessibility features. We rely in part on these platform-level features while we work toward a more thorough review of our own content and design choices.

3. What we are working towards

We aim to align our website with the internationally recognised Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, as a reasonable benchmark for accessibility. This includes working toward the following over time:

• Providing meaningful text descriptions (alt text) for images, including photographs of our programme activities

• Ensuring sufficient colour contrast between text and background so content is readable for users with low vision or colour blindness

• Making sure the website can be navigated using a keyboard alone, not only a mouse or touchscreen

• Structuring headings and page content logically so that screen reader users can navigate our site coherently

• Ensuring forms, including our contact form and donation form, have clear labels and error messages

• Avoiding content that relies solely on colour, flashing, or sound to convey information

• Reviewing video or embedded media (such as our Instagram feed) for accessible alternatives where practical

4. Known Limitations

Because our website has not yet undergone formal testing, there may be parts of the site that are not fully accessible. Possible limitations may include, but are not limited to:

• Embedded third-party content (such as our Instagram feed) that may not meet the same accessibility standards as the rest of our site

• Wix platform templates and widgets that may have inherent accessibility constraints outside of our direct control

• Forms or interactive elements that have not yet been tested with screen readers or assistive technology

• Colour and contrast choices that have not yet been formally evaluated

We are not aware of specific accessibility barriers at this time, but we acknowledge that the absence of a formal review means some may exist without our knowledge.

5. Third-Party Content

Our website is built on the Wix platform and includes embedded content from third parties, including social media feeds (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter/X, LinkedIn, YouTube, and TikTok). The accessibility of this third-party content is controlled by those platforms and is outside InukaMama's direct control. We encourage these providers to maintain accessible standards on their own platforms.

6. Feedback and Contact

We want to hear from you if you experience any difficulty accessing content or using any feature of our website. Your feedback helps us identify barriers we may not be aware of and prioritise improvements.

If you encounter an accessibility barrier, please contact us with as much detail as possible, including the page you were on, the device and browser you were using, and the nature of the difficulty:

Email: support@inukamama.org

Phone: +254 745 960 754

Physical Address: Matasia, Kajiado, Kenya

We aim to acknowledge accessibility feedback within five (5) working days and will work to address reported issues as quickly as our resources allow.

7. Alternative Ways To Reach Us

If you are unable to access information on our website, you may also reach InukaMama directly through the following channels, which do not require website use:

Ongoing Review

This Accessibility Statement will be reviewed and updated periodically as we make improvements to our website and as our understanding of accessibility best practices develops. We intend to revisit this statement at least once a year, or sooner if significant changes are made to our website.

This statement reflects InukaMama's good-faith commitment to accessibility. It does not constitute a claim of conformance with WCAG or any other accessibility standard at this time.
